Daily Bullets (Oct. 7): Mike Gundy Surfaces, Are Pokes No. 2 in the League?

• Mike Gundy is headed for the commentator’s box this weekend (PFB)

• OSU officially announced that Bedlam hockey is coming to Boone Pickens Stadium – here’s where the revenue will go (PFB)

• HCS has the Pokes No. 2 in the league in their power rankings (HCS)

• The analytics have the Pokes as the No. 18 team in the country, highlighted by key defensive metrics:

Oklahoma State has been particularly effective in money-down situations on defense. Opponents have converted just 29.6% of their third- and fourth-down opportunities, tied for the 18th-best defensive rate in the FBS, while the Cowboys are tied for 38th in defensive EPA allowed per play (-0.09). [PFF]

• Check for any updates on the Cowboy depth chart – one massive addition is Brayden Nelson making his Cowboy debut at tackle (PFB)

• Three in the top fifteen of production is really nice.

Oklahoma State is the ONLY FBS team with a Top 15 passer, rusher and receiver.

Three of the best in the country, all in the same offense. #GoPokes https://t.co/dO2haHHv1T — Boone Pickens State (@BP_State) October 6, 2026

Non-OSU Bullets

• Considering a hypothetical merger of the best ACC/Big 12 teams was really fun • Reflect over rush (faith-based)
