Great stat here from Mark Cooper.
One statistic tells you all you need to know. Mason Rudolph has started 33 games as a college quarterback. In games decided by single digits, he and OSU are 11-1.
Yes, that means six of Rudolph’s seven losses as a starter have been by double digits. But it also means Oklahoma State appears to have a special kind of resolve in the fourth quarters of tight games. [Tulsa World]
I think sometimes it’s frustrating that OSU doesn’t blow more teams out because it appears to have the talent to do so, but maybe the reality is that the talent isn’t actually there and it just knows how to win the close ones. Also maybe that’s revisionist history by me.
Play of the Year (So far)
Zach Crabtree (who appears to be the best quote on the team) talked about Marcell Ateman’s catch (that catch).
Right tackle Zach Crabtree was busy blocking when Ateman made the grab.
“I got a look up at the jumbotron when they replayed it,” Crabtree said. “What a freak. He’s a physical specimen. I love that kid. He’s a great teammate and a great player. You love seeing guys like that make big-time plays.” [NewsOK]
If OSU plays for the Big 12 title or makes it to a NYD6 game, that play will likely remain the play of the year (until Tyron returns a kick to beat OU).
OSU and NCAA Notes
Berry has OSU as the No. 3 team in the Big 12 right now … OSU women beat Baylor 1-0 in overtime to move to 10-1-2 on the year … So everybody has OU, Penn State, Clemson and Alabama in the CFP (which means it definitely won’t happen) … Rickie Fowler was one of three unbeatens at the Prez Cup.
This is a fantastic stat.

Seahawks RB Chris Carson suffered what Pete Carroll called a significant ankle injury. Carson’s ankle was in an air cast.

This is the good stuff.
The replies here are something else. Oklahoma State is averaging 47 a game!
Don’t let the door hit you in the ass on the way out.
