Playoff Primer

With the first edition of the CFP rankings coming out tonight, its helpful to hear an unbiased third parties opinion.

Oklahoma State is another team that really hadn’t beaten anybody until winning at West Virginia on Saturday, and we’ll see if that victory holds up over the course of the entire season. The Cowboys’ lone loss is to a good TCU team, but it was at home and not very close. The next two weeks are huge for the Pokes, with Oklahoma visiting Stillwater on Saturday and then a visit to Iowa State on Nov. 11. [Yahoo Sports]

So a starting point tonight isn’t really the huge deal with (potentially) three shots to impress the committee.

Georgia Tech Cowboys

Are the Cowboys fundamentally flexible… or just a team who runs the ball a lot?

In conference play, OSU leads the league in rushing attempts. Suddenly, the Cowboys look run-reliant.

While it’s unclear how Oklahoma will defend the Cowboys, chances are solid the Sooners won’t stray far from the blueprint TCU, Texas and West Virginia have developed. [TulsaWorld]

Would it shock you more to see Gundy come out and Mike Leach it or go full triple option a la Georgia Tech?
