OSU Bullets

• Cowboy alum Brock Martin talked about the significance of NIL over facilities – playing out a situation where OSU has to be competitive (Defiant Takes)

• Brett McMurphy has the Pokes taking on South Carolina in the Birmingham Bowl (Action)

• Bill Haisten assigns a reasonable expectation for wins this season and the cause for what appears to be a rough season on deck for the Pokes:

I really don’t expect a 2-10 result because West Virginia, Cincinnati and Houston are on the Cowboy schedule, but I do feel confident that Oklahoma State’s streak of consecutive winning seasons is about to end.

The OSU roster is flawed because the program was so damaged by the transfer-portal departures of really good players.

• Diving into the OSU defense, here are good and bad indicators from Saturday’s game:

Best stat: Iowa State only averaged 2.2 yards a rush. That’s big-time run defense.

Worst stat: Iowa State quarterback Rocco Becht completed 71.1% of his passes. What might Jalon Daniels or Dillon Gabriel complete?

• Letting all players have a shot may help retain some talent year-to-year but switching players doesn’t help prepare them for league play (PFB)

• This video of Pete cutting a rug made the rounds yesterday on social media:

• Ollie Gordon got going on Saturday on his long run – should be playing for the Miami Dolphins with that kind of speed.

Non-OSU Bullets

• Berry Tramel’s travel blog to the University of Cincinnati was good
• CFP still appears headed towards 12 teams event with the removal of a power five league

Not an educated football mind but there’s something poetic about K-State run plays:
