Five-star Center David McCormack Sets Official Visit to Oklahoma State

Mike Boynton and his coaching staff had a successful Sunday by landing the commitment of top-100 shooting guard Antwann Jones out of Tampa, Fla., and there may be even better news on the horizon.

Five-star center David McCormack has set his official visit date with Oklahoma State and will make the trip from Virginia to Stillwater on homecoming weekend, Corey Evans of Rivals.com reported. McCormack is a 6-foot-10 big man from Oak Hill Academy who, as of right now, 247Sports prognosticators project as an Oklahoma State lean.

McCormack is ranked as the 42nd overall prospect in the 2018 class and the No. 3 player at his position. He has a top five of NC State, Kansas, OSU, Xavier and Duke.

McCormack has already made officials to NC State and Xavier, and still has KU and OSU on his docket, with the Cowboys currently the final visit on his list. He could still schedule one fifth and final official visit according to NCAA rules, but with Duke landing the commitment of 6-foot-8 big man Cam Reddish for 2018, I’d be surprised if the Blue Devils are still a contender to land that visit.

Landing Jones on Sunday was a big win for Mike Boynton to officially kick off his recruiting resume at OSU with a bang, and adding a player of McCormack’s caliber — which at this point seems very possible — would be the next step in accumulating one of the best recruiting classes at OSU since 2005.
