Five-star Dax Hill Includes OSU Among Top 12 Schools

Five-star class of 2019 safety Dax Hill has 18 offers with plenty more on the way. But on Tuesday, he dropped a top-12 list that included OSU along with OU, Michigan, Ohio State, Florida and TCU, among others.

Hill is a top-20 national player in the 2019 class from Tulsa’s Booker T. Washington, and the younger brother of OSU running back Justice Hill.

Hill’s been on OSU’s radar for quite some time, but per his brother’s urging, he’s taking his recruitment slow and feeling out situations he thinks is best for himself, regardless of his brother’s placement.

“[Justice Hill’s] just been congratulating me, just telling me to keep the good job up and to keep doing what I’m doing and to stay focused,” Hill said in an interview with PFB last year. “He’s really just been telling me that even though he went to OSU doesn’t mean I have to follow in his footsteps. He wants me to weigh my options, and has told me I don’t need stay in Oklahoma just because I live here. He doesn’t want me to limit myself or my opportunities to just Oklahoma schools, so he’s encouraged me to explore all my options.”

OSU currently has a commitment in 2019 from four-star tight end Grayson Boomer, the No. 2 player in the state of Oklahoma. A commitment from Hill would give OSU arguably its most talented recruits ever from in the state and give OSU serious momentum, should he decide any time soon. And Boomer’s taken an active role in Hill’s recruitment.

“I hope he joins right away, so everyone will look at OSU,” Boomer said of Hill on The Reload podcast last month, adding that “Coach Gundy said he wants the 2019 class to be the best recruiting class to ever come through Oklahoma State.”
