Five-star Primer: Armando Bacot Poised to Make Commitment on Thursday
Five-star Class of 2019 big man Armando Bacot announced Wednesday afternoon that he’s ready to make his college commitment, and he’s wasting no time to make things official.
He’ll announce his decision on Thursday at 5 p.m.

FINALISTS: As has been the case for some time, Bacot is deciding between his five finalists of UNC, Duke, Oklahoma State, VCU and Georgia.
FRONTRUNNER: North Carolina is the frontrunner by a long shot.
The Tar Heels have long been considered the favorite for Bacot after prioritizing him throughout the recruiting process. OSU has also made Bacot a top target and visited him frequently, but all signs point to a UNC commitment.
“I think UNC is the leader as we reach the home stretch of Armando Bacot’s recruitment,” national recruiting expert Evan Daniels told Inside Carolina on Tuesday. “I’m not expecting his recruitment to go too much longer. This is a kid they’ve really targeted and would be a significant pull by Roy Williams and staff.”
Still yet, OSU has managed to hang tight throughout the process. He spoke glowingly of the Pokes several weeks ago when he updated his recruitment with Rivals.
“They’ve (Oklahoma State) been recruiting me really hard,” he told Rivals of OSU. “Out of all the schools, they’ve been to see me the most. They’ve been recruiting me this hard since last year. I like the coaches. They have a nice plan for me. They have a good program. I like what they are doing.”
PREDICTIONS: As for whether or not that effort will be rewarded remains unseen for OSU, but we’ll soon find out. I’m logging my official prediction in favor of the Tar Heels, though, as is Dustin Ragusa. We’ll see where he picks tomorrow.
