Oklahoma State could get some momentum going with a second consecutive win against a Sunflower State school, but the Jayhawks are a win away from a second straight year of bowl eligibility. Here are stats and other information for this weekend’s matchup.

In the past 40 meetings of this series, the Cowboys are 31-8-1 — but the Jayhawks have the most recent win.

Kansas became bowl eligible for the first time since 2008 with its 37-16 win against the Cowboys in Lawrence last season. Jason Bean threw for 203 yards and two touchdowns while completing 78% of his passes. He also ran for 93 yards and another touchdown.

That was Garret Rangel’s first career start, where the young quarterback threw for 304 yards and two touchdowns, but he also threw three interceptions. And he had little help in run support with OSU rushing for just 3.2 yards a carry.

The year before that, though, the Cowboys torched the Jayhawks in Stillwater with a 55-3 win. Spencer Sanders threw two touchdowns and ran for another, and Shane Illingworth threw two touchdowns. Brennan Presley ran for a touchdown and caught a touchdown pass.

Meanwhile, that vaunted 2021 OSU defense held KU to just 143 yards of total offense and seven first downs.
