The Mountaineers’ win in Boone Pickens Stadium last season was WVU’s first win against the Pokes since 2014. West Virginia hasn’t beaten OSU in Morgantown since 2013.

In a downpour last season, Ollie Gordon ran for 136 yards and a touchdown on 17 carries — the best game of his true freshman season. But WVU’s Jaylen Anderson played even better, running 15 times for 155 yards and a pair of scores.

Garret Rangel started at quarterback for the Pokes that rain-filled day, throwing 42 times (WVU threw just 23 attempts). Rangel was also sacked four times.

The Cowboys’ elite 2021 defense put on a show in OSU’s last trip to Morgantown. OSU won that game 24-3 as the OSU defense sacked WVU quarterbacks eight times.

Tay Martin caught a pair of touchdown passes that day on red zone fade routes. Jaylen Warren scored the other touchdown with a 13-yard run.
