Georgia Cornerback Donte Burton Names OSU in Top 6
Georgia cornerback Donte Burton has 27 scholarship offers from the likes of Wisconsin, West Virginia and Oregon, among others, but he’s got six that are standing out — and OSU is in that group.
Burton, a former North Carolina pledge, told The Tech Lunch Pail that OSU, Virginia Tech, Notre Dame, Missouri, Vanderbilt and Pittsburgh are the six schools leading in his recruitment at this juncture.
OSU entered his recruitment just over a month ago after extending an offer, and has maintained a close relationship with Burton, a one-time North Carolina pledge who opened up his recruitment this spring.
Although OSU has a commitment from athlete Jaelyn Nolan, who will likely play cornerback at OSU, the Cowboys don’t hold a commitment from a true cornerback in the Class of 2018. Burton fits that bill and then some as OSU looks to add youth to its secondary, which will lose super-senior Adrian Baker next season in addition to Malik Kearse, Ramon Richards, and Darius Curry.
