Ollie Gordon is raking in accolades after his masterful performance against the Jayhawks, but he isn’t the only Poke being nationally recognized.

Here is a look at the waves the Cowboys have made since toppling a ranked Kansas squad 39-32 on Saturday in Boone Pickens Stadium.

Gordon Earns Doak Walker Running Back of the Week and More

It’s easier at this point to list out all of the honors Gordon has picked up:

Big 12 Co-Offensive Player of the Week
Doak Walker National Running Back of the Week
Earl Campbell Tyler Rose Award Player of the Week

Gordon did something Saturday that hadn’t been done in an OSU uniform since back when his coach was the quarterback.

On 29 carries, Gordon ran for 168 yards and a touchdown. He also had six receptions for another 116 yards and a score. Only five players have reached those totals in the same game since 2000, according to OSU. Gordon was the first Cowboy to have 100 rushing yards and 100 receiving yards in a game since Gerald Hudson in 1989.

OSU coach Mike Gundy on Monday compared Gordon’s style to former Cowboy Keith Toston.

The Doak Walker award has been given out annually to the nation’s top running back since 1990. The award started bestowing this weekly honor last season.

The Earl Campbell Tyler Rose Award recognizes the top offensive player in Division-I football who also exhibits the enduring characteristics that define Earl Campbell: integrity, performance, teamwork, sportsmanship, drive, community and tenacity. The player must also be born in Texas, have graduated from a Texas high school or play at a Texas-based college.

Hale Earns Lou Groza Star of the Week for Second Consecutive Week

The past two weeks have seen Alex Hale go 9-for-11 on field-goal attempts and have resulted in two Lou Groza Star of the Week honors.

Hale is 15-for-18 on the season and leads the nation with 2.5 made field goals a game. He is tied for 14th nationally in total points scored this season with 60 points, a tally that is tied for first in the Big 12 alongside Texas kicker Bert Auburn.

A senior from Point Frederick, NSW, Australia, Hale was a 2020 Groza Award (given to the nation’s best kicker) semifinalist before a freak knee injury in pregame warmups of Bedlam.

Brennan Presley Named to Paul Hornung Award Honor Roll

Brennan Presley was one of three players named to this week’s Paul Hornung Award Honor Roll — alongside Colorado’s Travis Hunter and Utah’s Sione Vaki.

The Paul Hornung Award is given out annually to the nation’s most versatile player.

Against the Jayhawks on Saturday, Presley had a receiving touchdown, a rushing touchdown, 79 receiving yards, 51 kick return yards and six rushing yards. Sounds pretty versatile.
