There are a couple of ways Mike Boynton could go with his final pair of scholarships in the 2020 cycle, and one of those ways could include Ferron Flavors Jr.

Flavors, a California Baptist graduate transfer, has a final five of Oklahoma State, Washington State, Xavier, Detroit and Wake Forest, according to multiple reports. Flavors is a 6-foot-3 shooting guard. He averaged 13.2 points a game for the Lancers this past season and shot 43.9 percent from 3-point range.

The Cowboys need to replace a lot of 3-point shooting next season, as seniors Thomas Dziagwa, Lindy Waters and Cameron McGriff accounted for 143 of the team’s 189 3-point makes this past season.

Flavors is a college basketball journeyman, having played at the junior college level, Fairfield then Cal Baptist before announcing another transfer.

“I feel like Coach Boynton has been doing a really good job since he became the head coach,” said Flavors. “One thing that I found impressive is they started out slow in conference this year, and then after that they won eight of ten or something like that to finish out the season. He’s also getting one of the best players in the country in Cade Cunningham, and it always helps to play with better players. They just have a great need for my skillset and what I can bring to a team.” [247Sports]

With two scholarships to give, the Cowboys also seem to be in good standing with class of 2020 prospects Donovan Williams and JT Thor. Reports have surfaced that Boynton has also reached out to a few other transfers in Nate Johnson (Gardner-Webb), Kevin Marfo (Quinnipiac) and Landers Nolley (Virginia Tech). Marfo released a top five earlier Friday that didn’t include OSU, though.
