Grading the Uniforms: Week 4 vs. TCU
Let’s take a look at Oklahoma State’s second use of the White-Orange-White combination and one unique design change the Cowboys debuted that stuck out.
Helmet: A-
When the paisley design was revealed last year, I thought about how awesome it would be to see that design on a stripe down the middle of the helmet. We didn’t get to see it last year so I had forgotten all about the possibility of it.
As cool as it was to see that concept come to fruition, I think the White Badge helmet looks best with the black stripe that we saw last season. It’s clean. It’s sharp. It’s simple. With that being said, it’s awesome to have another alternate helmet with a fancy stripe. There really is not a noticeable difference between the two helmets unless the camera is zoomed in for a closeup.
Combo: A+
White/Orange/White is a fan favorite and a classic combo for the Cowboys. I will admit that I didn’t realize that it was going to be 140 degrees on the field when I made my uniform prediction of Orange/Black/Black. I’ll try to keep that in mind for the next home game. White/Orange/White makes the most sense when the mercury in the thermometer is above James Washington’s receiving yard average.
Overall: A
