Junior College Defensive Tackle Emmit Gooden Names OSU in Top Schools
Junior college defensive lineman Emmit Gooden released a list of his top schools on Tuesday, and OSU made the cut.
Gooden is a 2018 prospect playing for Independence C.C. in Kansas, who earned four-star status as a defensive end out of high school but failed to qualify academically after committing to play for Mississippi State. The Bulldogs signed and placed him in the JUCO ranks, where he has grown into a 6-foot-4, 310 pound defensive tackle.
Gooden announced earlier this year that he was de-committing from the program and is back on the market.
Gooden has 13 scholarship offers, however he released a list of top 20 schools which included Alabama, OU, Memphis, UAB, TCU, Arkansas, West Virginia, NC State, LSU, Arizona State, Georgia, Mississippi State, Louisville, Colorado, Missouri, Tennessee State, Oklahoma State, UTSA, USC and Texas A&M.
Gooden is on track to graduate in December and has his grades up to snuff, telling SEC Country recently he will “without a doubt” be a December graduate and qualify in order to be on campus at his college in spring of 2018.
