The Cowboys will — again — kick in the afternoon next week.

Oklahoma State and Houston will kick off their Week 12 matchup at 3 p.m. Saturday at TDECU Stadium, the conference announced after Saturday’s games. The game will be televised on ESPN2.

It’ll be the sixth afternoon kick of the Cowboys’ season and the third straight. OSU is 3-2 in the slot with wins against Kansas, West Virginia and Oklahoma and losses to Iowa State and UCF. OSU is 1-2 on the road in the slot.

The Cowboys will head into the game coming off a thumping in Orlando. UCF beat the Pokes 45-3, pushing the Cowboys to 7-3 on the year and in a mess of a race to make it to Arlington for the Big 12 title game.

Houston, meanwhile, has struggled in its first season at the Power Five level. The Cougars are 4-5 on the year and 2-5 in Big 12 play. The only conference games Houston has won this season were against West Virginia via Hail Mary and an overtime win against a 3-7 Baylor squad.

The Cowboys and Cougars have played three common opponents this year: West Virginia, Kansas State and Cincinnati.

Oklahoma State Houston
Kansas State W, 29-21 L, 41-0
West Virginia W, 48-34 W, 41-39
Cincinnati W, 45-13 L, 24-14

This game also features Mike Gundy facing former OSU offensive coordinator Dana Holgorsen. This will be the first time the two have squared off with Holgorsen wearing Houston red, but the two played seven times while Holgorsen was captaining West Virginia. Gundy is 5-2 against Holgorsen.
