Mater Dei Defensive Tackle Samuela Tuihalamaka Commits to Oklahoma State
Following an official visit to Oklahoma State this weekend, three-star defensive tackle Samuela Tuihalamaka has shut down his recruitment and made the decision to commit to Oklahoma State.
Thank you Lord for all that you have done,” he said on Twitter. “All glory and honor belongs to you. Thank you to my family for helping me get to where I am, and also the love and support. Thank you to the coaches who have also helped me and also to the Mater Dei staff. I’d like to thank those who have offered me to play for their school. Thank you for that wonderful opportunity and for taking time out of your schedule to talk and offer me. I’d like to finally say I am committed to Oklahoma State. Go Cowboys. Malo Sisu.
The decision gives OSU a commitment at a position it so desperately needed to fill for 2018. After Israel Antwine decommitted before signing day in December, it left OSU with no D-tackles incoming. So Tuihalamaka fills a massive void for the class.
Despite the pledge, however, don’t be surprised to see OSU continue its pursuit of new targets Otito Ogbonnia and Amadou Fofana to round out the 2018 cycle at defensive tackle. With just one remaining scholarship in the class, it’s likely that the opportunity will go to either a defensive tackle prospect or an outside linebacker.
