Mike Gundy and Co. Use Kansas Game to Host Interesting Guest List
Mike Boynton made the most of his team’s win over Kansas on Saturday by hosting several big-time hoops targets for unofficial visits, and so did Mike Gundy.
According to GoPokes.com, more than 40 prospects were in attendance Saturday for the big game. So I won’t run them all down, but here are among the more intriguing ones worth noting.
Edmond Santa Fe defensive end Trace Ford, who picked up an OSU offer just two weeks ago, made the trip from Edmond to Stillwater on Saturday to take in the Senior Day festivities. Ford is a 2019 prospect who has gone from under-the-radar to double-digit-offer sheet in a matter of weeks.
He’s a top-10 prospect within the state and Arkansas, Cal, Oregon, Florida State and Mizzou are among the most recent to offer.
All Union does is churn out Division I talent over the last few years, and 2019 DT Darrias Murdock appears to be no exception. He’s a strong interior/exterior defensive lineman who I could see morphing into a nose tackle.
Keep an eye on Murdock. His recruitment has been quiet on the offer front, but he’s garnered plenty of interest. Playing next season outside the shadows of OU signee Jordan Kelley will only improve his stock.
Ross was the only major prospect who actually picked up an offer during his visit over the weekend. FIU and Purdue have also offered the Cedar Hill native.
Hudson Card, a 2020 QB from Lake Travis in Austin, Texas, made an unofficial on Saturday just a week after Oklahoma State extended him a scholarship offer. So that’s a good sign.
He’s up to eight offers in total from the likes of Utah, Indiana, Northwestern and others. Will be a big timer once he gets unearthed this summer and into next fall. Only a sophomore!
Brysen McKinney was the other QB on campus this weekend. A 2019 recruit, he’s not on OSU’s offer sheet, but may be an under-the-radar name to watch if OSU misses on its current crop of targets at QB in the class.
McKinney holds one offer — Texas State — thus far.
Jackson is a former Stillwater native, which makes his trip from Mansfield to Stillwater make some sense. It also makes some sense why OSU is a legit contender here for the 2019 standout.
Jackson has an OSU offer along with others from Arkansas, Florida, Indiana and others.
