Next Up: Oklahoma Starts Playoffs While Texas Wraps Up Regular Season Play
Oklahoma recruits started playoff action while Texas wrapped up its regular season in week 11. Spencer Sanders did the dual-threat thing again, and we were an injury away from an intriguing Cowboy vs. Cowboy playoff matchup in South Texas.
Spencer Sanders, Quarterback
Denton Ryan wrapped up its third straight perfect regular season with a 56-7 win over Wichita Falls Rider and a phenomenal performance from Spencer Sanders.
An interception was the only flaw on a day that saw Sanders throw for 263 yards and three scores as well as a third straight drool-inducing ground performance. Sanders averaged over 18 yards-per-carry with 166 yards and a 66-yard touchdown run. Ryan will begin postseason play next week against White Settlement Brewer.
Look at Sanders hurdle and truck this defender. That’s his third hurdle in as many weeks. Reminds me of another quarterback who plays just to the south of Stillwater.
This should answer the people that are doubting Spencer Sanders, this dude is ending peoples lives.? @SpenceSanders pic.twitter.com/EZShSRYExY

C.J. Moore, Wide Receiver
Moore was not used much in a 28-3 first round win over Edmond Santa Fe. Union running back Darius Boone went for well over 300 yards rushing, and the Redskins had no need to put the ball in the air. They will face Broken Arrow next week for the right to play for the Oklahoma 6A championship.
Jahmyl Jeter, Running Back
Jeter sat out again after undergoing surgery two weeks ago. Brennan lost to San Antonio O’Connor 44-41 in overtime. The Bears will take on Cibolo Steele in the first round of the playoffs next week and Jeter will likely be unavailable for that game.
Jonathon Shepherd, Wide Receiver
Bullard jumped out to a quick 19-0 lead on Kilgore last week before the Bulldogs went on a 56-7 run to win the game 56-25. Shepherd had four catches for 37 yards to help the Bulldogs as Kilgore finishes at 7-3 and will take on Little Cypress-Mauriceville in the playoffs next week.
Gabe Lemons, Athlete
Coppell defeated Richardson 49-14 last week to finish the season at 9-1 and district champions. Lemons caught two balls for 27 yards and a touchdown in the win. Coppell will take on Rowlett next week in round one.
Blake Barron, Linebacker
Barron had five tackles including a sack in Rockwall’s 48-37 win over North Mesquite. Rockwall will take on defending 6A state runner-up The Woodlands in round one next week.
Tyler Lacy, Defensive End
Sachse wrapped up an undefeated season with a 51-7 win over South Garland. Lacy had a tackle and a sack that resulted in a safety in the blowout as the Mustangs prepare for a playoff date with Lake Highlands next week.
Is anyone else impressed with the graphics? Texas high school football does not mess around.
Sack by @tylerlacy85 for a SAFETY!

Jayveon Cardwell, Cornerback
Cibolo Steele defeated Clemons 14-13 last week to secure a playoff matchup against Jahmyl Jeter’s Brennan Bears next week. Cardwell had four tackles in the win.
Had Jeter not gone down with an injury two weeks ago, we would have been treated to some nice Cowboy-on-Cowboy crime with Jeter on the Brennan offense and Cardwell on the Steele defense with the season on the line.
