Non-conference TV times finalized
Oklahoma State vs. Mississippi State gets the 2:30 PM slot on ABC to kick off the 2013 season
You guys basically already knew this but the Big 12 officially released its TV schedule for non-conference football games today. Here’s a look at OSU’s three games:
August 31 — Mississippi State in Houston on ABC/ESPN2 at 2:30 PM
September 7 — at UTSA on Fox Sports 1 at 11 AM
September 14 — vs. Lamar at 6:30 PM (television TBA)
As @carsonc5 pointed out on Twitter, that Mississippi State game is quite a 180 from the Savannah State bloodbath we had for an opener last year. The 2:30 ABC/ESPN2[1. It will probably get bumped to ESPN2 up north for Rutgers-Villanova or something like that.] slot is big boy stuff.
I’m also interested to see what the Fox Sports 1 production looks like — will Andy Roddick be bringing commentary to my living room? Also, why are we traveling to San Antonio to play UTSA again? Gundy buy a stake in the Riverwalk this offseason?
Each Big 12 school gets to retain the rights to one game a year and air it on their own network (Longhorn Network, online, etc.) and OSU has done that with the Lamar game. It will probably be pay-per-view (bah) (this is what OU is doing with its game against Louisiana-Monroe) or only on okstate.com (would be awesome) or something like that.
