Oklahoma State Hosts Two QB’s for Unofficial Visits

Oklahoma State’s deck at QB is completely clear for 2019 and beyond, which means the staff is efforting diligently to continue their development of relationships with prospects who could fit what they’re looking to bring in.

This week, two QB prospects — one 2019 and 2020 — made their way to Stillwater to check out the campus. Most notable among them: 6-foot-6 gun-slinger Shane Illingworth out of Corona, California, who is a highly-touted four star.

“The visit was really great,” Illingworth told Pistols Firing. “The facilities were really impressive.”

Illingworth has five offers including from the likes of Arizona State, Louisville and Arkansas, and more soon to come. During his visit to the midwest, he also stopped by to see Arkansas.

Oklahoma State has two offers out the door in 2020 to Jack Miller and Hudson Card who are pro-style and dual-threat prospects, respectively, so it’s possible Illingworth’s name may soon be added to the big board.

Also of note was the visit of 2019 QB Hayden Wolff, who visited all the way from Florida. A 6-foot-5 pro-style prospect, Kentucky is his biggest offer to date. He’s a three-star recruit according to 247Sports.

Oklahoma State’s slate in 2019 for QB is a bit jumbled at the moment, as the staff waits to see what Grant Gunnell does. So Wolff could be an option moving forward, although OSU did not extend an offer to him during his trip.

Four-star 2019 QB Grant Tisdale out of Allen, Texas, and four-star QB Taulia Tagovailoa are also big targets for OSU in the class, although neither have expressed a particularly strong interest in Oklahoma State to this point.
