Oklahoma State Makes Top 10 for 2019 Targets Miterko, Carter
This weekend two top 2019 targets for Oklahoma State — offensive lineman Taylor Miterko and defensive end Tauren Carter — trimmed their list of college options and named the Cowboys among their top 10 choices.
Three-star Miterko trimmed out Washington State, Virginia, Vanderbilt, Texas State, Rice and Northwestern from his offer sheet while Carter, also a three-star prospect, cut Minnesota, SMU, Southern Miss and UTSA.
OSU is in the thick of things with Miterko, who visited Oklahoma State on an unofficial basis earlier this month. But the Cowboys have their hands full in a battle with Texas Tech, TCU and Baylor, as well as Washington and a handful of others.
Carter is also considering TCU and Texas Tech among potential destinations as well as Florida and Michigan State.
Miterko is a big target for OSU in the 2019 class, as the staff has yet to land a commitment from an offensive line in the 2019 cycle. Carter, too, is important, as the staff continue to make an effort to put talent around current edge-rushing commits Isreal-Isuman Hundley and Kody Walterscheid.
At a listed 6-foot-3, 260-pounds, I get the impression OSU may be pursuing Carter as an inside rusher who slips inside to defensive tackle at the next level. At Mansfield Legacy, he played a little of both and thrived, which would give OSU the luxury of adding a third defensive tackle pledge in the class to pit alongside Xavier Ross and Jayden Jernigan.
