Oklahoma State No. 11 in Preseason Coaches Poll
The Cowboys are one of four Big 12 teams in the Top 25.
The Cowboys will start the 2022 season just outside the Top 10 and in a clump of Big 12 schools.
Oklahoma State was voted 11th in the preseason AFCA Coaches Poll, which released Monday. That puts the Cowboys third among Big 12 squads with Oklahoma (No. 9) and Baylor (No. 10) just ahead of the Cowboys.

The Cowboys ended last season ranked seventh in the Coaches Poll, again, a spot behind Baylor. Notre Dame, a team OSU beat in the Fiesta Bowl, finished last season ranked ninth but jumped to No. 5 in the preseason poll.
Elsewhere in the Big 12, Texas (after missing a bowl game in 2021) will start the year ranked 18th. In what must be some cruel joke, the Longhorns also received a first-place vote. Kansas State is in the receiving votes category and would be 45th in an expanded poll.
There are two future Big 12 teams in the Top 25 with Cincinnati coming in at No. 22 after making the College Football Playoff last season. Houston enters the year ranked 25th. In an expanded poll BYU would be No. 29, and UCF would be No. 32.
