Oklahoma State Offers 2019 QB Brendan Costello Following Camp Showing

After an impressive showing at OSU’s “The Show” camp this weekend — a trial-run for prospects to show out in front of the Cowboy coaches in Stillwater — 2019 QB Brendan Costello has emerged with an offer.

“It’s a great feeling, I’m really exited about the offer,” Costello told 247Sports. “They came out to see me work out a week or so ago and I did pretty well. Coach Yurcich invited me to come out and camp with them and said if I threw the same way I did when he was on campus, they would offer. So I was really motivated to have a good workout and it’s awesome how it all worked out.”

Costello is a dual-threat prospect from San Clemente, Calif., whose biggest offer to date is now the Pokes. Air Force, Army, Brown, Eastern Washington and UC Davis have also offered, but it seems the visit — and his interaction with the coaching staff this weekend — made a strong impression on him.

“Coach Yurcich picked us up and we headed to coach Gundy’s office,” Costello told 247Sports. “I knew the coaches had broken down all the film from Monday and he told me the offer was coming,” Costello explained.

“When we got to coach Gundy’s office, he gave me a run down of their offense, how they do things there and how they cater to the offense to the strength of the quarterbacks. That’s when he offered and that was pretty incredible.”

Costello added to 247Sports during his interview that he wants to make a return trip to Oklahoma State with his mom in tow, and that he wants to get his recruitment process over, as does the OSU staff. He says he intends to make that trip later this month during the dead period, and all indications are that it could be a commitment coronation for the under-the-radar San Clemente star.

The facilities they have are incredible and the campus itself is beautiful. I go to meet the training staff and the whole offensive staff as well and really clicked with everyone. I loved it there and I’m looking forward to getting back for another visit.”
