Oklahoma State Offers 6-foot-6 Class of 2020 QB TJ Finley

As of earlier this week, OSU had extended offers to only two quarterbacks in the 2020 class: Hudson Card and Jack Miller.

That changed Thursday night when TJ Finley, a 6-foot-6 pro-style prospect from Ponchatoula, Louisiana, announced that the OSU coaching staff had extended him his 10th overall scholarship offer to go along with the likes of Alabama, Baylor, Louisville and others.

Oklahoma State loves its pro-style QBs and has had plenty of success with them — Mason Rudolph and Brandon Weeden the most notable examples — and Finley fits the billing of the body type OSU targets, too.

Just two cycles ago in 2017, in fact, OSU signed 6-foot-7 QB Jelani Woods. He has now transitioned to cowboy back, but the hope was that he could be brought in to toss bombs with ease over the line of scrimmage. Finley seems to be capable of doing so at the high school level.

Last season, he completed 115 passes for 1,883 yards and 14 touchdowns en route to becoming a national commodity. The school to watch for Finley, though, is likely in-state LSU. The Tigers haven’t offered but are the favorite to land him.

“LSU has been a dream school for me since I was a little kid. Kids out here dream of going to LSU and to have that opportunity would be a great opportunity,” Finley told SEC Country recently. “Now, they’re throwing the ball. I’m used to watching LSU run the ball, but I like to see teams throw the ball. We’ll see how it unfolds.”
