The media predicts a Bedlam battle for the Big 12 title in 2020.

Oklahoma State was picked to finish second in the Big 12, the league announced Friday, trailing only instate rival Oklahoma. The Cowboys received six first-place votes to OU’s 80. Texas also received four first-place votes.

Team Points Last Season’s Record
Oklahoma (80) 888 12-2
Oklahoma State (6) 742 8-5
Texas (4) 727 8-5
Iowa State 607 7-6
Baylor 489 11-3
TCU 477 5-7
Kansas State 366 8-5
West Virginia 287 5-7
Texas Tech 267 4-8
Kansas 100 3-9

It’s the fifth straight season Oklahoma was picked to win the league, something that happens when you win the past five Big 12 titles.

As things stand, OSU and OU are set to play Oct. 24 in Norman. If the two were to meet again in the Big 12 title game, that would come Dec. 5 in Arlington.

This is the highest the Cowboys have been projected to finish since 2017. Picked second that year, the Cowboys finished third behind OU and TCU.

Like every preseason poll, this isn’t the end all be all. Last season in proof enough of that. The Big 12’s media got two of the 10 placements right in 2019: Oklahoma at the top and Kansas at the bottom.

Oklahoma Oklahoma
Texas Baylor
Iowa State Texas
TCU Oklahoma State
Oklahoma State Kansas State
