Oklahoma State RB Target Darwin Barlow Lays Out Decision Timeline

Three-star running back Darwin Barlow has made three of his five allowed official campus visits. With a good idea about each of his finalists, he’s now laid out a timeline for his college decision.

According to ETSN’s Clint Buckley, Barlow has said that commitment is expected to come before his season starts on Aug. 31. But first, Barlow plans to visit, LSU, a late contender for him, soon, likely on an official basis.

It will be yet another campus visit to go along with unofficials to Baylor, Houston, TCU and Texas.

“Most importantly [for me is] education, and of course somewhere I can get playing time,” Barlow told ETSN of what he’s looking for in a college.

Finding what you like and don’t is the easy part, of course, of being recruited. The not so easy part will come soon, and Barlow is already dreading it.

“(The most difficult part is) having to choose between the great coaches that you have a close relationship with,” Barlow said.

Barlow made his official campus visit to Oklahoma State earlier this month and appears to have come away impressed by what he saw. Most importantly, he likes what he’s being offered by OSU: a chance to be a versatile offensive weapon in a fast-paced offense.

“They think that I can be a major asset to them and they have brought up me possibly graduating early to get up there quicker,” Barlow told Rivals recently.

“They have watched me during the spring play running back and receiver,” he said. “I think that I fit perfectly in their offense – they’re always sending me plays telling me that I can be their next Chris Carson.”

Barlow is ranked as the No. 27 running back prospect in the 2019 class and the 456th best prospect nationally. With zero commitments for OSU at running back for the cycle, he represents OSU’s biggest target for RB coach John Wozniak going into the summer.
