Ollie Gordon II is among the 10 best players in college football, and there’s a list to prove it.

The Oklahoma State running back was included on a list of 10 semifinalists for the Walter Camp Player of the Year. He’s one of just two running backs to make the list.

Gordon is currently tied with North Carolina’s Omarion Hampton with 1,414 rushing yards, to lead the nation. Gordon is also averaging 6.7 yards per carry, has 15 rushing scores and has been effective in the passing game with 29 catches for 262 yards and another score.

Hampton is not on this list. Michigan’s Blake Corum, currently ranked 46th nationally in rushing, is the other RB on this list. He does, however, lead the nation with 20 rushing TDs. But Gordon takes the cake in virtually every other category.

Earlier Tuesday, Gordon was included as a semifinalist for the Doak Walker Award. Unlike the Doak Walker, which is given to college football’s top running back, the Walter Camp award is given to the nation’s top player. He has also been named as semifinalist for the Maxwell Award, also given to the country’s top player.

The Walter Camp Football Foundation will narrow the list down to three finalists, which will be announced Nov. 28. The winner will be announced on ESPN during the Home Depot College Football Awards on Dec. 8. Barry Sanders is the sole Cowboy to win the award during his record-breaking 1988 Heisman season.
