OSU Commit Grant Mahon to Miss Junior Season Due to Injury
Oklahoma State commit Grant Mahon will miss his upcoming football season after an X-ray found a fracture in his L5 vertebra, the Denton Record-Chronicle reported Thursday.
Mahon, a 2020 OSU commit, is a three-star defensive tackle entering his junior year at Denton-Guyer High School. Mahon was reportedly experiencing back pain that caused him to sit out of a scrimmage before going to the doctor and being diagnosed. The injury will require surgery.
As a sophomore at 6A Guyer, Mahon recorded 43.5 tackles and 2.5 sacks.
OSU is his only offer, and he committed July 29. He’s one of three 2020 commits in a talented class that already includes early commitments from four-star Eli Russ and three-star Jabbar Muhammad.
