OSU Football Recruiting: Cowboys Offer 2020 Linebacker, Miss Out on Myles Slusher Sweepstakes
Is New Jersey a new leg of Cowboys country?
With spring practice now in the rear view, Oklahoma State coaches have been singularly focused on compiling talent for the future. A slew of offers were extended the last week, but at this time of year crootin’ never stops. Here’s a look at the happenings on the trail, starting with a new offer.
Is Jersey Linebacker Country?
Three-star class of 2020 linebacker Tirek Austin-Cave announced an OSU offer on Twitter Monday evening.
Austin-Cave boasts 15 offers from the likes of Miami, West Virginia, Texas A&M and Baylor. He’s taken unofficial visits to Rutgers, West Virginia and then was in College Station for his unofficial to Texas A&M last week.
Austin-Cave is the second linebacker prospect from New Jersey that the Pokes have extended an offer to over the last week joining Millvile product Solomon Deshields. OSU has two 2020 LBs committed in Oklahoma products Brynden Walker and Cole Thompson.
Myles Slusher Spurns In-State OSU for Oregon
Oklahoma State was in on Broken Arrow product Myles Slusher who named the Cowboys among his top 10 a month ago, but the four-star safety announced his commitment to Oregon on Monday with a video posted to his Twitter account.
The Cowboys have yet to reel in a safety pledge for 2020 with three-star cornerback Jabbar Muhammad the lone commit for the back end of Jim Knowles’ defense.
OSU Makes List for Ty Jordan
The Cowboys made the Final 11 of Ty Jordan, a three-star running back from Mesquite, Texas. Along with OSU, Jordan’s list includes Arkansas, Baylor, Houston, Mizzou, Oregon, Tennessee, Texas, USC, Utah and Wisconsin.

The Cowboys offered the speedy 5-foot-7, 183-pound all-purpose back in November. His offer sheet has grown to 23 according to 247 with Tennessee and Oregon throwing their pale orange and electric green hats in the ring over the last month. OSU is still without a running back commit for the 2020 class.
