OSU Offers Lineman of Top Running Back Target in 2020 Class

Any time the Oklahoma State staff (or any staff) can sweeten the recruiting pitch for a five-star prospect, you do it. Especially when it involves a top-5 nationally ranked player.

On Tuesday, Oklahoma State made an offer to 2020 offensive line prospect Damieon George — a ho-hum development on its surface. But further investigation reveals that George, a currently unranked prospect from North Shore in Houston, is the bruising offensive tackle who plows open holes for five-star tailback Zachary Evans.

Evans is ranked as the No. 5 player overall in the 2020 class and the No. 1 running back nationally, as well as the top prospect in the great state of Texas. He made a visit to OSU several months ago, and has double the offers as his own age. (!)

George is a 6-foot-6, 320-pound rising recruit. With offers from Alabama, OU, Florida State, LSU and others, it’s seemingly only a matter of time before he, too, joins Evans as a blue-chipper from Houston’s North Shore.

If the recruitment of George for OSU can help, in any way, with the pitch for five-star Zachary Evans, then this stroke of behind-the-scenes genius from the OSU staff is a fantastic move.

By now you’ve realized that OSU won’t be the only school pitching a “packaged deal” of sorts, but OSU identifying a potential pairing early in the recruiting process will help as it continues to gain traction with George along with the top rated recruit in the Lone Star State.
