OSU, OU Get into Subtweet Battle Amid Bryce Thompson Visit
Bedlam takes to the Twittersphere.
Oklahoma tried to rain on Bryce Thompson’s Oklahoma State visit this weekend, but the attempt provided questionable results.
Thompson, a five-star prospect out of Booker T. Washington in Tulsa, is on an official visit in Stillwater this weekend. Thompson’s visit started Friday, and the OU basketball Twitter account just so happened to have this tweet ready for that same day:
The best players FROM Oklahoma play FOR Oklahoma.
Let @blakegriffin23, @TheTraeYoung and others explain…#YouBelongHere pic.twitter.com/Z82e1UbCbR

Saturday morning, Thompson responded to the tweet he probably would’ve been mentioned in if NCAA rules allowed.

The emojis, what do they mean? Your guess is as good as mine there.
Not too long after Thompson’s tweet, OSU coach Mike Boynton clapped back:

And Thompson responded similarly:

In late August, Thompson announced a Top 7 of OSU, OU, Texas, North Carolina, Michigan State, Kansas and Arkansas.
A 6-foot-5 combo guard, Thompson is the 19th-ranked prospect in the 2020 class. He attended an open practice on Saturday, where Boynton stirred the pot even more with the fans who were also there. Bedlam takes place Feb. 1 and Feb. 22 of 2020.
#OKState coach Mike Boynton to the crowd after his team's open practice: "This is the best basketball program in the state by far."
