OSU QB Commit Zane Flores Named MaxPreps’ Player of the Year in Nebraska
A big senior year continues for Flores.

OSU quarterback commit Zane Flores’ senior season rise continued on Tuesday after a spectacular sendoff season, culminating by earning MaxPreps’ Player of the Year award for the state of Nebraska. Flores becomes the first QB to win the award from the state since its inception.
Flores went 12-1 with Gretna in his senior season in leading the team all the way to the state championship game. He completed 235 of his 359 pass attempts for 3,117 yards, 31 touchdowns and seven INTs. On the ground he added 262 yards and 10 rushing touchdowns on 79 carries.
Putting a bow on his award and his career, Flores finishes as the state of Nebraska’s all-time leader in passing yards with 9,163 and total completions with 724.
OSU’s 2023 class has just 11 commitments overall in what is expected to be a smaller than normal incoming class, but Flores is the highest-ranked of the bunch. He’s rated by 247Sports as a very high three-star and the No. 26 overall QB prospect in the entire class for 2023 nationally.
