OSU Recruiting: In-State Defensive End Trace Ford Sets Commitment Date
Edmond Santa Fe standout defensive end Trace Ford announced Wednesday night his plans to make his college commitment on Aug. 31, the day after OSU’s season-opener against Missouri State.
Ford is a three-star prospect who has close to 20 scholarship offers in total. He has OSU in his recently released top-8 that includes Arkansas, OSU, Cal, Arizona State, Baylor, Florida State and Oregon.
Committing August 31st ❕

Ford hasn’t come out and named a favorite, but Arkansas and OSU are believed to be the current frontrunners, with Baylor lurking as a darkhorse. He visited Arkansas several weeks ago for the Woo Pignic, and I’m told he visited OSU in early June. So interest between the two at the top appears to be high.
OSU has been high on Ford throughout the recruiting process and has kept its final spot open on the defensive line in the 2019 class for him in the event he wants to stay in the state borders. Should he commit to the Pokes, he’d join a talented defensive end class led by Colleyville product Isreal Isuman-Hundley that also includes three-star prospect Kody Walterscheid of Muenster, Texas.
