OSU Staff Pays Visit to Dax Hill; Five-star Expected to Make Summer Decision

Two members of Oklahoma State’s coaching staff — defensive coordinator Jim Knowles and safeties coach Tim Duffie — made a visit to Tulsa on Tuesday to check in on five-star 2019 safety target Daxton Hill on Tuesday.

Ohio State coach Greg Schiano, the Buckeyes’ defensive coordinator, was also on hand to get a glimpse of Hill, the top-40 prospect who has college coaches swarming to town to see his program-changing talent.

There are no concrete updates with regards to Hill and who he is or isn’t favoring. He dropped a top six of Alabama, Michigan, OU, OSU, Ohio State and Clemson recently, and that list hasn’t changed. However, Bill Haisten wrote a story this week on the #DaxSanity, where he laid out a potential timeline for a decision and noted that, yes, the college of Hill’s choice is an absolute mystery — or it’s being disguised very well by those close to him.

No one in the Hill family provides any real indication whether any one school is the front-runner or whether OSU has an advantage because of the Justice-Dax connection.

Coaches from Alabama, Clemson and Ohio State are all slated to make visits to see Hill this week in hopes of not only making him a priority, but also of making an effort to see his game live and in person.

This week is the final week of spring ball for Booker T. before it pauses until later summer. By then, Hill may be committed to the mystery college of his choosing. But by now, we all know that’s wishful thinking. Hill’s recruitment may draw out until the dog days of summer and into early fall before we know where Oklahoma’s highest-rated recruit will play his ball.
