The Cowboys are still outside the top 25 of the major polls, but they’re getting closer after a Power Five road win.

Oklahoma State is receiving votes in the AP Poll and Coaches Poll after the Cowboys’ 27-15 win against Arizona State on Saturday night. OSU would be No. 38 in an expanded AP Poll and No. 37 in an expanded Coaches Poll.

The Big 12 is off to a bit of a rough start in the 2023 season, but the league has three teams in each poll: Texas (4/6), Kansas State (15/15) and Oklahoma (19/16). The league also has two incoming members ranked in Utah (12/12) and Colorado (18/21).

Oklahoma State hosts South Alabama at 6 p.m. Saturday in Boone Pickens Stadium. The Jaguars received votes in the preseason polls before falling out after a Week 1 loss to Tulane.
