Quentin Moore will not follow in his father’s footsteps in Stillwater.

Moore, son of former Oklahoma State All-American safety Mark Moore, announced a commitment to Washington on Sunday. Moore is a class of 2021 tight end out of Independence Community College in Kansas by way of Kenmore, Washington.

OSU offered Moore after a visit in November, but his home state school swooped in with an offer in mid-March. OSU was seen as a favorite to land his commitment at a few points during Moore’s process, but things started shifting after Washington became heavily involved.

In early April, Moore put out a stacked Top 15 that included OSU, Washington, Ole Miss, Miami, Florida State, Tennessee, Arizona State, Michigan State, Arkansas, West Virginia, Texas Tech, Nebraska, UConn, Colorado and TCU.

It would have been a nice story for OSU, but it isn’t the end of the road for the Pokes at the position in the cycle. OSU’s staff still has eight offers out to uncommitted tight ends in the 2021 class, according to 247Sports.
