Redshirt Freshman Receiver Matt Polk Enters Transfer Portal, per Report
Polk’s father played under Jimmy Johnson and Pat Jones.
The Cowboys spent their last practices of the 2021 season at Saguaro High School in Scottsdale. Not long after they left, their Saguaro alum entered the transfer portal.
Matt Polk, a redshirt freshman receiver, entered the transfer portal on Tuesday, according to 247Sports’ Cody Nagel. Polk becomes the sixth Oklahoma State player to enter the portal. Polk’s father, Raymond Polk, played at OSU under Jimmy Johnson and Pat Jones.
A 6-3 wideout, Polk hasn’t seen any game time in his two seasons in Stillwater. He joined the program with the 2020 recruiting class. He was a three-star prospect ranked 567th nationally. He had offers from Arizona, Arizona State, Florida, Tennessee, UCLA and others before choosing OSU.
Smith joins Hunter Anthony, Dezmon Jackson, Jayden Jernigan, Tanner McCalister and Monroe Mills as OSU players that have entered the portal. Of that group, Anthony has already announced a commitment to Nebraska, and Jernigan announced he is headed to Missouri.
Polk leaves a deep position group with the likes of Brennan Presley, Jaden Bray, Blaine Green, Bryson Green and John Paul Richardson set to return after having played a lot this past season. The Cowboys are also bringing in Top 100 recruit Talyn Shettron, Braylin Presley and Mason Gilkey as part of their 2022 recruiting class.
