Saturday was a good day for a number of true freshmen at Oklahoma State in different phases of the game.

On special teams, punter Tom Hutton notched his best day as a Cowboy yet, blasting five punts for a 43.4 yard average — including a personal-best 50-yarder. He also completed a pass on a fake punt. Look at this gem! Squared his shoulders, rocked back and let ‘er rip. Les Miles would be proud!

On defense, Jayden Jernigan and Thomas Harper showed glimpses of the future with strong outings. Jernigan got his first career sack while Harper got his first career tackle for loss.

Here’s a look at how the stats have played out through seven games this season for the true freshmen.
