The Reload is PFB’s recruiting recap catching you up to speed with the latest Oklahoma State recruiting news, with an ear to the ground for what to expect.

2018 offensive lineman Owen Condon commits to Georgia

Oklahoma City offensive tackle Owen Condon made a commitment to the University of Georgia over the weekend over OSU, SMU, Arkansas and others.

Condon is a 6-foot-7 tackle who Georgia sold to come in as a utility lineman either at guard or tackle, and he says the atmosphere in Athens is what ultimately sold him.

“The combination of football, academics, and a fun college atmosphere in Athens is what sold me on Georgia,” he told Scout.

Condon long-considered OSU and made it clear the Cowboys were a contender several months ago: “[Oklahoma State] is going to be one of the top [schools] until I end up committing to a school,” Condon told Pistols Firing. “It’s close, it’s a great program, and Coach Henson is awesome. I just haven’t taken enough visits yet to know for sure where I want to be [for the next four years]. I only want to commit once so I want to make sure I’m making the right decision. That’s why I’m not jumping to commit anywhere just yet.”

OSU has four high school offensive linemen committed to OSU but still has room for one more in its Class of 2018. With Condon out of the mix, OSU will maintain its focus in recruiting blue-chip prospect Darrell Simpson to fill the final spot.

Junior college receiver offered after camp

NEO wide receiver Pat Mckaufman picked up an offer from Oklahoma State following a strong showing at the schools first-ever junior college camp in Stillwater this weekend. Mckaufman reported the offer from his “dream school” on Monday.

The 6-foot-5 athlete played quarterback at Douglass (OKC) and pursued the junior college route, and is now a Class of 2018 recruit. We’ll have more on him on Tuesday, but as it stands now, OSU becomes the instant favorite. He also holds offers from Nevada and Northern Illinois.

2020 QB Ken Seals visits OSU

6-2 Weatherford (Texas) quarterback Ken Seals made a visit to OSU for a minicamp this week, and the Class of 2020 recruit made a strong impression on the coaching staff.

According to the Star-Telegram, Seals visited privately with Mike Gundy for 45 minutes after the visit before heading down the road to Norman.

Seals came away without an offer — and OSU hasn’t extended an offer at QB for the Class of 2020 — but Seals is undeniably on the radar. He already holds an offer from Montana State. He threw for 1,414 yards and 10 touchdowns as a freshman at Azle high school.

2018 cornerback target on commitment watch

Former North Carolina pledge Donte Burton is on commitment watch and is eyeing a summer decision, according to Scout.com. The 6-foot cornerback was offered by OSU this spring and has included the Pokes in each cut of his top schools, but it appears they are playing from behind in his recruitment.

Here’s more details on his recruitment from Scout:

Burton explained to Irish Illustrated that he plans to visit three schools this summer: North Carolina, Notre Dame and Missouri.

He also stated that he considered Notre Dame to be his “best offer.”

The ninth-ranked cornerback in the talent-rich state of Georgia holds a 3.7 GPA and is looking for a strong balance of academics and athletics. He feels he has found a solid match in Notre Dame.

It would come as no shock if Burton committed to Notre Dame during his first stay in South Bend.

Burton has 30 scholarship offers and has not yet visited Oklahoma State. OSU’s 2018 class is without a commitment at cornerback however athlete Jaelyn Nolan will flip from high school quarterback to cornerback at OSU.
