Report: Four-Star Class of 2025 Big Man Ben Ahmed Schedules Oklahoma State Visit
It could be a big week for OSU hoops.
It could turn out to be a pretty big few days for the Oklahoma State basketball team.
The Cowboys upset No. 9 Iowa State on Tuesday night in Gallagher-Iba Arena, and now Oklahoma State is set to host four-star class of 2025 center Ben Ahmed on an official visit this week, according to On3’s Joe Tipton. Listed anywhere from 6-foot-9, 300 pounds to 6-foot-10, 250 pounds, Ahmed had signed with Miami in the early signing period but got out of that after Jim Larranaga stepped down in December.
Rivals considers Ahmed the No. 54 player and the No. 4 center in all of the 2025 class. He comes in at No. 98 nationally in the 247Sports Composite ranking.
He plays his preps ball at Putnam Science Academy in Connecticut, where just last week he set the program’s all-time scoring record. He’s also the program’s all-time leader in rebounds. He helped lead PSA to a national prep title in the 2022-23 season and a runner-up finish last season. Ahmed got to the United States in 2022 from Nigeria.
First-year OSU coach Steve Lutz has two players signed in his 2025 class to this point in guard Ryan Crotty and center Mekhi Ragland. If the Cowboys could find a way to land Ahmed, it would bump OSU’s class up from No. 53 to No. 28 in 247Sports’ rankings — one spot ahead of Kansas. According to Tipton’s report, Penn State and Boston College are also in the mix for Ahmed’s services.
