Seeking Frontcourt Help, OSU Offers 2018 Huntington Prep Big Man Maurice Calloo
Losing Mitch Solomon and Yankuba Sima this offseason was a brutal blow to a frontcourt that already projected to be thin in 2018. Despite adding 6-foot-10 signee Kentrevious Jones to the fold recently to go alongside Yor Anei, the Oklahoma State staff continues to hit the recruiting trail in search of more depth up front.
The latest example of their labor is a new offer that went out on Monday to power forward prospect Maurice Calloo, a 6-foot-8 high school senior who plays for Huntington Prep.
Oklahoma State and SMU offered 2018 @HuntingtonPrep F Maurice Calloo. Still working out his visits.

Calloo is considered to be a heavy Illinois lean — they offered back in November — but he’s still stepping up visits, an indication that he has purposely kept his options open late in the process.
Calloo visited St. John’s last weekend, will visit Ole Miss this coming weekend, and plans to round it out with a visit to Illinois the following week. But as of now, his plans appear to be fluid, to say the least. Which means the Cowboys have a shot at slipping in as a contender late in the game.
Solomon’s absence next season will be missed for the Cowboys, but they can combat a lack of experience in 2018 with big bodies and size down low. With Kentrevious Jones, Anei and potentially Calloo in the fold, the frontcourt could be a by-committee approach crafted around youngsters.
