The Cowboys added a running back commit with Power Five offers from all over.

DJ Dugar, a three-star running back out of Leander, Texas, announced his commitment to Oklahoma State on Saturday evening. Dugar picked the Pokes over offers from Kansas State, Arkansas, Cal, Michigan State, Oregon State, TCU and others.

Listed at 6-foot, 200 pounds, Dugar is the 2025 class’ No. 705 player in the 247Sports Composite ranking. That puts him 57th among running backs and 122nd among Texas prospects. Rivals lists Dugar as high as the No. 32 running back in the cycle.

He played at Glenn High School this past season, where he ran for 1,510 yards and 18 touchdowns on 198 carries, according to MaxPreps. And he did that while playing in a triple-option offense.

Dugar has rushed for 3,824 yards and 48 touchdowns through three high school seasons, as he ran for 1,414 yards as a sophomore and another 900 as a freshman.

Oklahoma State has been on Dugar for a while, offering him back in November of 2022. That made the Pokes his first Power Five offer, and they stuck with him all the way up through an official visit this weekend and a commitment.

It’s OSU’s fourth commit of the month of June, as Dugar joins defensive lineman Jordan Covington, tight end Isaiah Butler-Tanner and defensive lineman Alexander McPherson. Dugar is the 13th overall commit of the class. He bumps OSU’s class up to No. 27 nationally in 247Sports’ rankings. That puts the Pokes up to No. 4 in the Big 12.

Dugar is OSU’s 10th offensive commit in the class but the first running back. The Cowboys have a lot of fun skill players in the class, though, with Dugar joining receivers Kameron Powell, Matrail Lopez, Jaden Perez and Royal Cappell.
