Three-Star Texas Wide Receiver Ake O’Neal Commits to Oklahoma State
O’Neal is a 6-foot-3 track star.
The Cowboys added a second receiver in their 2027 recruiting class on Thursday.
Ake O’Neal, a 6-foot-3, 195-pound prospect from Argyle, Texas, announced his commitment to Oklahoma State. He picked the Pokes over offers from Utah, Duke, Wisconsin, Texas Tech and others.

O’Neal will bring size and speed to Stillwater. At 6-3, he’s been credited with a 11.4 100-meter dash this year and has a high jump of 6-foot-6 and a long jump of 22-7, according to Athletic.net.
He’s the No. 1,393 overall prospect in 247Sports’ Composite ranking for the class, which tabs him as a Top 180 receiver and Texan.
Argyle High went 12-2 in O’Neal’s junior season, with MaxPreps crediting O’Neal with 21 catches for 335 yards and a touchdown.
OSU’s staff extended an offer to O’Neal in February, and he visited for a Junior Day at the end of March before taking an official visit to Stillwater at the end of last month.
He joins in-state standout Cooper Hooker as receivers in the Cowboys’ 2027 class and is the seventh commitment OSU has landed overall. All but one of those pledges play offense, with in-state safety Bryson Brown being the only defensive player to commit to this point.
O’Neal’s commitment moves the Cowboys up one spot in the Big 12 team rankings to No. 13, which is highest among Big 12 classes with fewer than eight commits.
