Tramonda Moore Says He ‘Fell Off’ With OSU Following Departure of Greg Adkins

It’s been almost a year-and-a-half since Tramonda Moore, then a four-star offensive tackle from John Marshall, committed and signed to play with Oklahoma State. Moore eventually failed to qualify academically and took the junior college route where OSU, up until the firing of Greg Adkins, stayed in constant contact with him.

As we all know by now, Moore has now committed to play for Oklahoma. As we reported upon his Sooners commitment, OSU wasn’t in contact with him of late after switching offensive line coaches. New offensive line coach Josh Henson moved down the line and took a different direction in his recruiting approach—a point of contention specifically among Sooners fans—but Moore confirmed as much in an interview with The Oklahoman this week.

The Cowboys had supported him through his work to try to get academically eligible in time to make it to Stillwater the first time around and they’d stayed in contact with him even after it became clear he’d have to go the junior college route.

“I talked to Coach Gundy here and there but once Coach (Greg) Adkins left Oklahoma State, I fell off with those guys,” Moore said.

Although Moore has all the physical tools on the football field, Henson’s new path in a different direction in recruiting has been wildly successful since taking over. He’s already landed five high school offensive line commitments in Bryce Bray, Hunter Anthony, Hunter Woodard, Jacob Farrell, and Tyrese Williams, and could land another before signing day comes around.

Moore is a 6-foot-6, 330-pound prospect who committed to the Sooners over offers from UCLA, Texas Tech, South Carolina and Iowa State.
