Yahoo’s Pat Forde says OSU is the low seed to keep an eye on in Kansas City.
Dangerous low seed: Eighth-seeded Oklahoma State (10). Cowboys have hit some high notes: swept Kansas, beat West Virginia, Texas Tech and Oklahoma once apiece. They need some wins to get into the Big Dance. And the draw sets up well: slumping Sooners in the first round, then potentially a Kansas team Oklahoma State has owned this year. [Yahoo Sports]
While OU’s playing vulnerable and they’ve had the Jayhawks number this year, Bedlam is always a dogfight (in Stillwater) that’s not to be taken for granted. And if KU’s team is half as incensed as their fan base is about being swept by the Pokes. the home crowd at the Sprint Center will be a heck of a challenge.
Raw and Ready to Sign
In what’s one of the best recruiting evals I’ve heard on Mike Gundy’s 2018 class, Ian Boyd aptly sums up Gundy’s recruiting M.O.
Oklahoma State did well and landed a lot of players that are insane, raw athletes that could become monsters under their development track. Gundy clearly loves the early signing day for allowing OSU to lock down fringe prospects that bigger schools used to come and “poach” later in the cycle.
I guess his reasoning is that there will always be guys like that, even as the bigger schools invest more in early evaluation and relationship-building, because the desire to aim for the obvious bluechips will keep the bigger schools from being able to offer and lock down the high-upside 3-stars that OSU has always made their living with. [Concerning Sports]
If you’re not going to sign the four/five-star guy that comes in ready to light the world on fire day one, you’ve got to sign the guy with upside and give him time to swell up under Rob Glass and compete with that first guy.
Mike Gundy has mastered this art and the 2018 class appears to be another brick in the wall.

Great point here – it’s sort of like the CFP: you make the argument for what team you want. Confirmation bias is a thing.
Watched this again this morning and it's sort of a bizarre statement because it applies to most bubble teams. If you were to say teams 150+ are all cupcakes, which seems to be his point, then Baylor is 10-13, Louisville is 11-12, USC is 13-10, Notre Dame has 9 wins, etc. https://t.co/PFEJAShWDX

This would be a counter viewpoint – a very valid one.
Toledo is currently No. 85 in RPI. #okstate is currently No. 88.
Toledo has one Quadrant 1-2 win. #okstate has nine.
Kansas beat Toledo by 38 points. #okstate swept Kansas. #RIPRPI pic.twitter.com/BSWQ2LhOTQ

Man… Spoon could jump out of the gym.
Who makes up things like Unique Names Day? I'll blame https://t.co/dNtw8FyXHe. But if really a thing, then here are 4 OSU players with unique names: 35 Farland Dindy, 4 Jeroid Johnson, 25 Janover Weatherspoon, 33 Sammy Jo Diffendafer. Who've you got #GoPokes #okstate pic.twitter.com/c2fPgCyQiS

The bonus Bedlam a Big 12 title game in football didn’t offer, a consolation prize of sorts.
