OSU Bullets
โข Derek Mason surprisingly resigned yesterday as the OSU defensive coordinator – here are a few names of candidates who could replace him (and a few more)
โข Kendall Daniels was named a Freshman All-American
โข This comparison of Spencer Sanders and new Cowboy Alan Bowman is helpful in drawing out what to expect from the likely new QB1:
If there is a trade off, Bowman is likely a better passer in the pocket. He has twice as many games with at least 400 yards passing, as well as double the number of games with at least 50 pass attempts. And Bowman did that in fewer than half as many starts as Sanders.
His career completion percentage is also six percentage points higher than Sanders’.

Bowman played in a Texas Tech scheme focused on higher percentage passes, but the general premise probably stands – worse legs, better arm.
โข The Pokes head to Waco for a matchup with the Baylor Bears tomorrow at 5 p.m. – Mike Boynton previews it here
โข Former Cowboy assistant Matt Holliday resigned unexpectedly as the Cardinals bench coach – apparently tied to a desire to spend more time with his family
Non-OSU Bullets
โข In-N-Out Burger is (finally) headed east
โข This one’s been a struggle – pushing truth from head to heart (faith-based)
