2025 Defensive Line Prospect Jordan Covington Commits to Oklahoma State
The Cowboys pick up their second defensive prospect of the 2025 class.
It’s a big official visit weekend in Stillwater, and it was just made bigger.
Jordan Covington, a three-star defensive lineman in the 2025 class, announced his commitment to Oklahoma State on Saturday while on an official visit. Out of McKinney, Texas, Covington chose OSU over offers from TCU, Kansas, Missouri, Michigan State, Houston and others.

OSU and new defensive line coach Paul Randolph jumped in on Covington’s recruitment last month, offering him on May 3.
Listed at 6-foot-3, 260 pounds, Covington plays at McKinney High, the same high school that brought OSU linebacker Jonathan Agumadu in the 2024 class. Covington made six sacks as a junior in 2024 to go with 22 total tackles and seven tackles for loss. He also had 24 QB hurries, a pass breakup and a pair of forced fumbles, according to MaxPreps. McKinney went 9-3 in his junior season, making it to the second round of the Texas 6A-D2 playoffs.
Covington was used a handful of different ways this past season. A lot of his film had him as a defensive end on a three-man front, but there are other clips that show him standing up on the edge or in the middle of the Lions’ line. His frame could see him be just as versatile at the college level.
He isn’t on all the radar for all the recruiting services quite yet, as 247Sports is the only of the major services to have a star rating for Covington. 247Sports lists him as the No. 126 defensive lineman in the 2025 class and the No. 184 player from Texas in the cycle.
Covington becomes the 10th commit in the Cowboys’ 2025 class, but he is just the second defender to commit in the cycle, joining Wichita linebacker Kyle Keya. OSU enters what could be a busy June with the No. 33 class in the country, according to 247Sports, and the No. 5 class in the Big 12.
The Cowboys now have six commitments from Texans in the cycle with Covington’s pledge, and he’s the second from McKinney — joining McKinney North wide receiver Kameron Powell.
OSU defensive coordinator Bryan Nardo let out a pair of bat symbols Friday night, alluding to incoming commitments. So, with Covington’s pledge, there should be at least one more out there.
