Cinderella Antidote
Some ado was made about South Alabama ~ Troy State (2007) so what was the difference between that game and this one?
“You can come here and guys can lose focus,” Gundy said. “It’s happened to us before. And the leadership that (Rudolph) provides and a few other guys prevent that from happening most of the time.
I’m very pleased with the way that (Rudolph’s) handling things and defensively we’re getting that from a few guys that are starting to step up and lead, and that’s what it takes. A coach’s fear is to have letdowns during the season where you don’t prepare the right way. I thought our guys prepared well, but then you still have to go play.” [TulsaWorld]
So Bobby Reid, a young Z-Rob and a crew of veterans is the difference? I wish coaches would say it like it is sometimes.
“Well Mark, we brought a hydrogen bomb to a knife fight. That’s the difference”.
Wins and Yards
Much ado has been made about Rudolph getting the school record for passing yards – quite a feat. But with Friday night’s win, Rudolph climbed to second in another key category.
Improved quarterback Mason Rudolph’s career record as a starter to 24-6, moving him past Brandon Weeden and Zac Robinson for the second most wins by a starting quarterback in school history.[OKState.com]
My guess is Gundy is the first, right?
OSU and NCAA Notes
The non-offensive touchdowns just keep coming….Apparently JoePa knew more than was let on….A couple of Cowboys from Florida could use prayers for their family…Ivan Maisel on the Holy War (BYU-Utah) is good
There are pros and cons – this is a pro from Columbus last night.
This @OU_Football victory is seismic throughout the CFB season in 2017. Really helps everyone in @Big12Conference particularly Oklahoma St.
