The Cowboys are adding a productive receiver from the MAC.

Israel Polk was among the first portal players to announce interest from Oklahoma State when the portal opened Friday, and on Tuesday, he took to Twitter to announce he’ll be a Cowboy.

Listed at 6-foot-1, 175 pounds, Polk has spent the past two seasons at Akron after starting his college career in 2023 at Pitt. He should have two years of eligibility remaining.

With the Zips this past season, Polk caught 33 passes for 525 yards and a team-best eight touchdowns. He was a Second Team All-MAC selection. According to PFF, 127 of those yards came after the catch, and 25 of his catches (so just about all of them) went for first downs.

He was targeted 20+ yards down the field 14 times this past season, catching six of those passes for 255 yards and four touchdowns. He averaged 15.9 yards per catch, more than an OSU receiver in 2025.

As a redshirt freshman in 2024, Polk caught 24 passes for 201 yards, and in four games as a true freshman at Pitt, he caught one pass for 14 yards.

247Sports Considers Polk the No. 313 player in the transfer portal, making him the No. 61 wide receiver available.

He traveled a long way to get to the MAC, as he is from Richmond, California by way of national high school power St. John Bosco. He was a three-star prospect in the 2023 recruiting class and chose Pitt over offers from Cal, Washington State, Oregon State, San Diego State and others.

Polk is the third receiver the Pokes have picked from the portal, joining the North Texas trio of Wyatt Young, Miles Coleman and Terrence Lewis. He also provides another option for five-star transfer quarterback Drew Mestemaker.
