Bullets Rundown

• Cade as No. 1?
• Flavors would have led the Big 12
• Boynton isn’t done yet

OSU Bullets

Should Cade Cunningham be the No. 1 pick in the NBA draft? Boone compares Cunningham’s chances to the newest NBA G-Leaguer Jalen Green, another top recruit.

Cunningham’s advantage comes down to talent. He’s a more polished player at this stage. His feel for the game as a passer, playmaker, shot-creator and defender is unmatched. Even if the roles were switched — Cunningham in the G League and Green at Oklahoma State — I’d give the edge to Cunningham because of that. The additional exposure he’ll get from the NCAA season on a good Oklahoma State team will simply be gravy. [CBS Sports]

By the way – the Jalen Green situation is fascinating. It’s very possible that this opens up an interesting (relatively short-term) and well-traveled path around the NCAA.

Grad transfer Ferron Flavors is as accurate from deep as it gets – and this number about his volume caught me off guard.

With the Lancers last season, Flavors hit 93 3s. That’s 17 more than Thomas Dziagwa hit for OSU this past season. He has averaged double figures in scoring in each of his two seasons at the D-I level. [PFB]

For the record, 93 would have been the most in the Big 12 (by one) last season.

Is Mike Boynton done recruiting for the 2020 class? Let’s hear his words.

“I keep hearing this ‘Scholarships are full’ message, and I don’t know where that’s coming from,” Boynton said. “I guess I should say this: I understand how that works, but it can’t work that way for me. I have to follow the rules. The rules say before school starts, you can only have 13 guys with a scholarship. So, what I always say, when school starts, we won’t have more than 13 guys on scholarship. [PFB]

This comment just says it all – the guy never stops. A darn epidemic can’t slow the guy down (he landed Ferron Flavors and Donovan Williams after 4/1).

• There are a lot worse ways to spend 25-minutes than breaking down Fiesta Bowl fine with Brandon Weeden.

• Tylan Wallace, part 1: back on his feet.

• Tylan, part 2: those feet he’s back on are the most capable returning at wideout in the Big 12.
